If you’re throwing a kids party this summer, then you want to throw one that everybody will talk about for years to come. And a great way to do this is by throwing a summer party filled with outdoor party games, delicious food, and amazing drinks. Speaking of which, amazing kids party drinks can be difficult to think of on your own, so we’ve found 7 perfect colourful and fun rainbow inspired mocktails for kids to brighten up your parties this summer.
1. Watermelon Slush (Red)
This beautiful red watermelon slush recipe is the perfect mocktail recipe for kids. It’s bright, refreshing, and delicious – what more could you want?
All you’ll need to make this mocktail is:
-125g of cubed watermelon
-600ml of almond milk
Freeze the watermelon cubes overnight before throwing them into a blender with the almond milk and chopped mint right before serving. It’ll be perfectly cold and hydrating for those hectic party games.
2. Orange Mocktail (Orange… obviously)
Our orange mocktail is the perfect blend of tangy and sweet, so it will be a crowd-pleaser when the kids are all round looking for something tasty to drink in between all their party games.
To make this, you’ll need:
-250ml of orange juice
-250ml of lemonade
-Squeeze of lemon juice
-1 lemon or orange slice for garnish
This is really simple to make. Just throw it all into a jug and mix it up and it’ll be ready to go. Because the orange juice and lemonade are equal quantities too, it’s really easy to make a big batch of this one beforehand – but be warned, it’s so tasty you might have to make another batch part way through the party!
3. Pi-no Colada (Yellow)
You can’t make kids party drinks without trying this delicious sweet and creamy recipe. The colour will attract the kids, and the taste will keep them begging for more!
For this one, all you need is:
-Frozen pineapple chunks
-120ml of pineapple juice
-80ml of coconut cream/milk
It’s a really simple blend until smooth recipe that’ll taste wonderful. If you want to make more than one, just multiply the numbers here by the number of people ordering a pi-no colada and it’ll still be perfectly balanced.
4. Nojito (Green)
Nojito’s are just as refreshing and delicious as the real thing, but remember, these are kid friendly mocktails, so if you want some for yourself, you’ll have to remember to make extra because the kids will love this one just as much as you.
It’s really simple to make with these ingredients:
-10 mint leaves
-2 teaspoons of sugar
-1 lime squeezed for its juice
-250ml of soda water
-Use lime wedges and mint leaves to garnish
Crush ten mint leaves with the sugar and the lime juice. Pass through a sieve into a glass so you don’t get bits of mint leaves in the final drink. Rinse the bowl or jar that you crushed the ingredients in with soda water, and then tip this into the glass too (through a sieve again). Top up with the remaining soda water and serve with slices of lime and whole mint leaves for a refreshing kids mocktail!
5. Ocean Blue Goblet (Blue)
This is a really fun recipe that’s perfect for summer parties!
-80ml of blue raspberry syrup
-500ml of lemonade
-Splash of lemon and lime cordial
-Ocean inspired sweets to garnish
This is a simple case of mixing the ingredients together in a jar and then using any ocean inspired sweets you can find to make it look like there is an underwater world in your glass. Kids will love it, and it tastes as great as it looks too!
6. Cranberry Rose Mocktail (Pink)
This cranberry rose recipe might not be something you’re familiar with but it’s one of the best mocktails for kids we’ve come across!
It’s simple to make too with these basic ingredients:
-125ml of cranberry juice
-125ml of rose lemonade
Simply pour the cranberry juice over crushed ice until around halfway, then slowly pour the rose lemonade over the top. You should have a pleasant effect where the red of the cranberry juice slowly turns into the vibrant pink of the lemonade, so all the kids will have a lot of fun watching it transform as they drink!
7. Lavender Lemonade (Purple)
Our final rainbow inspired mocktail is lavender lemonade, a delicious, refreshing summer drink perfect for any kids party.
All you’ll need for this one is:
-350ml of water
-2 teaspoons of sugar
-honey 2 teaspoons
-2 teaspoons of dried lavender
-1/2 lemon squeezed for its juice
For this, you’ll need to first make sure you’re buying edible dried lavender. Then combine the water and sugar over a medium heat until sugar dissolves. Take it off the heat and mix in the lavender, honey, and lemon juice. Leave to cool and then place in fridge for 2 hours to let the flavours and colours blend. Then pour over ice using a sieve to catch any lavender pieces. The vibrant purple will please any kid!
